Did someone say Taco Tuesday?! This Easy Slow Cooker Pork Tacos recipe is such an easy and delicious meal. We often have it on Taco Tuesday, but it’s so good that we’ve had Taco Wednesdays and Taco Fridays and… you get the idea! It’s super delicious!

Crock Pot recipes make life so much easier. They are especially helpful during the week when we are doing school. Slow cooker meals always make me feel so free and accomplished. I actually remembered to put dinner in the crock pot and I don’t have to think of something else for dinner tonight! HA!

What to have with pulled pork?

I love just shredding the pork and have a buffet of things laid out for my family to help themselves to tacos. Things we often pair with this slow cooker pulled pork tacos is sourdough tortillas, sautéed peppers and onions, salsa, queso, and guacamole. You could also have rice, beans, cheese… Lots of things! Get creative!

What cut of pork is best for pork tacos?

I use boneless Boston butt or pork shoulder. This pork is so tender and very shredable. Melt in your mouth good!

Is it better to cook on LOW or HIGH in a Slow Cooker?

Low is a better option to make sure you get tender pork. This recipe takes 7-8 hours on LOW. In a pinch, High will work. I have been short on time before and have used the HIGH setting and it has turned out fine. But if you have the time I always prefer slow and low in the slow cooker.

Can I cook this Pork Taco recipe without a slow cooker?

Yes, you can use a dutch oven or oven safe pot and cook it in the oven at 325 degrees for about 3 hours or until tender. Link to my dutch oven…

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Ingredients you will need:

  • 3-4 lb Pork shoulder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Cumin
  • Chili powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Oregano
  • Water

How to make Slow Cooker Pork Tacos

Remove pork shoulder from packaging and cut it into quarters. Place in the slow cooker. Combine all spices in a small bowl. Sprinkle the spices on all sides of the pork. Then just pour in water to have about an inch of water on the bottom of the slow cooker. Then turn on to LOW and enjoy the smell of delicious Mexican pork all day!

Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is great for Taco Tuesday or any day of the week! This recipe makes a delicious, tender pulled pork.

Easy Slow Cooker Pork Tacos
Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:8 hours

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb pork shoulder
  • 2 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 ½ teaspoons cumin
  • 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Mix all spices together in a small bowl.
  • Cut up pork shoulder into quarters and place in crockpot.
  • Sprinkle seasoning on all sides of pork chunks.
  • Add about 2 cup of water to have about 1 inch of liquid around the pork.
  • Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours of 4 hours on HIGH.
  • Test doneness by how easy it is to shred. The pork should “fall apart” easily if you pull on it with a fork or tongs. If it doesn’t shred easily, continue to cook until it does.
