  • 2 ½ cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 10 Tablespoon butter cold
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup sourdough discard
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate or white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium size bowl.
  • Cut butter and peanut butter into flour mixer with a pastry cutter until butter pieces are the size of a pea.
  • Stir chocolate chips into flour and butter mixture.
  • Mix in milk, sourdough discard, and vanilla.
  • Turn onto floured surface and continue to fold in the remaining flour until everything is combined.
  • Divide in half and shape into two circles ½ inch thick. Cut each circle into 8 slices.
  • Place scones on a parchment lined or silpat baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  • It's tempting to just eat them right out of the over, but let cool slightly so you don't burn yourself!
