Simple Broccoli Salad

This Simple Broccoli Salad is a quick and easy dish to bring to a potluck or picnic! This is one of my favorite side dishes! I mean it has bacon and cheese and it’s healthy with all the broccoli, right? The dressing is tangy and slightly sweet and goes perfectly with this salad!

Perfect potluck side or picnic!

This is always my go to if I need to bring a side dish to an event. It’s so easy and quick and the bowl is always empty by the end of the meal. It’s always a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients for Broccoli Salad

Ingredients you will need:

  • 2 lbs fresh Broccoli
  • ½ lb bacon
  • 2 cups cheddar chees
  • 1 cup mayonnaise 
  • 1/3 red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How to make this Simple Broccoli Salad

Cook Bacon and let cool. Chop up in bacon bits.

Cut broccoli into bite size pieces. Combine broccoli, bacon, and cheddar cheese in a large bowl. 

In a separate bowl make the dressing. Whisk together the mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over the broccoli salad and stir to coat.

Let rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps to meld all the flavors together.

What goes well with broccoli salad?

This Simple Broccoli Salad goes well with burgers, chicken, ham and biscuits. Makes a great lunch on its own as well. I mean it has bacon and cheese and veggie… Very well rounded lunch. I eat this a lot in the summer time!
